Antony Bonavita was named Assistant Director of Athletics for Facility and Event Operations in 2007. Bonavita was named Director of Facility and Event Operations in July of 2004 after serving a year in an interim capacity.

Bonavita is responsible for the daily operations, maintenance, construction and renovations of Stony Brooks' athletic facilities, including the Indoor Sports Complex and Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium. Bonavita is also charged with overseeing the events management team that is responsible for the coordination and implementation of both athletic and special events for the department. Stony Brook plays host to numerous special events each year including concerts, trade shows, commencement and high school athletic championships.

Prior to his current role within the athletic department, Bonavita served as the Director of Events and Operations from 1998-2004. He began his career in facilities as the athletic event manager at Stony Brook in 1996.

Bonavita graduated from Stony Brook with a bachelor's degree in political science in 1998. While an undergraduate student, he interned in the marketing department, assisting with the publicity for 19 sports as well as advertising and corporate sponsorship efforts.

He holds a facility management certification, crowd managers certification and was published twice in Facility Manager Magazine (July 2001 & April 2005).

Bonavita resides in Rocky Point, N.Y., with his girlfriend Jaclyn and their two cats.
