Stony Brook Swimming and Diving Falls to Boston University

Boston, Mass. - Both the Stony Brook men and women's swimming and diving teams lost to Boston University Saturday afternoon at the Aquatic Center. The men lost by a final score of 175-120, while the women's score finished at 176.5-117.5 in favor of the Terriers.

Freshman Lukasz Ochmanski (Lodz, Poland) continued his successful first season, finishing first in the men's 1,650-yard freestyle (16:09.89) and 400-yard individual medley (4:06.49).

The other men's top finishers included senior Alexander Kissel (Amityville, N.Y.) who finished first in the 50-yard freestyle (21.56) and the 400-yard freestyle relay team which included Kissel, junior Omer Ozcan (Brooklyn, N.Y.), freshman Jonathan Eldor (South Setauket, N.Y.) and freshman Eric Gaffey (Bohemia, N.Y.).

The women's team was lead by freshman Anastasia Kiryushkina (Moscow, Russia) who claimed first-place points for the Seawolves in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:07.76) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:24.54).

Freshman Maja Gudelj (Split, Croatia) also garnered first-place points for the women in the 100-yard freestyle (53.91) as did freshman Lisa Jackson (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) in the 400-yard individual medley (4:45.96) and the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Kiryushkina, senior Nyisha Green-Washington (Highland Mills, N.Y.), freshman Adrienne Policht (Mississauga, Canada) and senior Courtney Teague (Colorado Springs, Colo.).
 

 

The women's team has yet to claim their first victory of the year, falling to 0-6, while the men drop to 2-4.

Both the men and women are back in action on Wednesday, December 4th at home against Iona and St. Francis. The meet starts at 5 pm.
