Women's Soccer Set To Host Maine In America East Quarterfinals
Oct. 30, 2007
Stony Brook, N.Y. - The fourth-seeded Stony Brook women's soccer team will host its first ever America East tournament game on Thursday at 7p.m., hosting fifth-seeded Maine in quarterfinal action at LaValle Stadium. The game is a re-match of Sunday's regular-season finale when the Black Bears defeated the Seawolves 1-0 on a penalty kick in the 76th minute. Stony Brook (7-4-5) has lost two straight after putting together a school record 10-game unbeaten streak. The Seawolves recorded 10 shutouts this season including eight in a row at one point. Sophomore goalkeeper Marisa Viola's scoreless streak of 863:33 was the seventh longest in NCAA Division I women's history. Tickets are $8 for ages 14 & up and $2 for those 13 & Under or a student at an America East Institution. Stony Brook students will be granted free admission with a Stony Brook ID courtesy of the Stony Brook athletic department.
